Welcome to First Congregational Church of Rochester

Welcome to the Network Site of First Congregational Church of Rochester, Michigan. A United Church of Christ Worship House, where we believe in the “Still Speaking God” and seek to demonstrate our belief in all we do. Our faith is grounded by sound theological teachings led by our Senior Pastor Reverend David Wheeler.

Reverend David, as he is fondly referred to is kind, considerate, and hopeful yet pragmatic in his approach to living a spiritual life in a sometimes confusing world. He is dedicated to the health and well-being of the church and works long hours serving in the many capacities required to lead a strong, active and growing faith community. His casual and unassuming style allows for many voices and differing points of view to be heard and supports the belief that we all have a right (and obligation?) to speak up for that which is important to us. Reverend Wheeler’s humor is charming and somewhat disarming as people find him extremely easy to talk to or share their personal challenges and triumphs with. He is a man of integrity and humble in heart.

You may listen to a sample of a Sermonic Message online. For those in the greater metropolitan Detroit- area who would like to attend a live Sunday Service, please join us at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. (September through May) and 8:30 and 10:00 (June through August). A recorded CD is available immediately following each service and an informal coffee hour follows the early worship service. Please dress in any way that you feel comfortable, and know you are welcome at FCC Rochester. If you are interested in finding out more about our programs, services or other activities contact us and we will be happy to answer all inquiries. For a list of Staff click here.
