FAITH FORMATION

AT FCC ROCHESTER

Grades pre-K through 6

Sunday school is held at approximately 10:15 a.m. on Sunday morning. All classes are staffed by volunteers who give their time and talents to provide a positive Christian learning experience for our children. The children are adjourned from worship after the Children’s time or as indicated in the worship bulletin. At that time, four-year-olds through sixth graders also go to their classrooms in the lower level.

Meeting time: Sunday mornings at 10:15 a.m.

Adult Faith Formation Classes

First Congregational Church, Rochester, United Church of Christ, offers several opportunities for you to invest your time to continue to form your faith. We have an adult-led, book/bible study, The Thoughtful Christian Bible Study, that meets every Wednesday, at 2 p.m. We’ve studied authors such as Brian McLaren, Rob Bell, Doug Pagitt, and many more.

Confirmation Class

Confirmation is our Faith Formation program designed to equip our young disciples with stronger biblical, denominational, and spiritual knowledge to make an informed decision to join the body of Christ in discipleship. The program runs as needs and is continually adjusted to meet the needs of a busy and complex world our youth live within. Ask the pastor for details about Confirmation (affirmation of Baptism).

Camp Talahi

95% of church leaders and Ministers state a connection with a faith-based summer camping opportunity. They are invaluable to the life of our children’s faith formation. The United Church of Christ in Michigan has Camp Talahi. Our conference maintains a great camp facility in Livingston County, not far from Brighton and Howell. Many of our children and youth attend the camping programs there.
